Premium U.S. Cheese Brands Expand Sales to South Korea with Food Export Trade Mission

In 2021, continuous Covid-related restrictions worldwide made in-person business events nearly impossible. Food Export continued to support U.S. exporters through virtual events that facilitated contacts between U.S. suppliers and foreign buyers. One such event was Food Export – Northeast’s Virtual Trade Mission to South Korea for Specialty and Retail held in October 2021.

Orange Cheese Company conducted 11 pre-arranged virtual meetings with Korean companies assisted by qualified interpreters and as a result, in March 2022, they reported $70,000 in actual sales from their participation in the activity with projected sales of $200,000 over the next twelve months.  Additionally, they reported establishing 4 new distributorships. The Korean participants mostly distribute U.S. products to hypermarkets, department, convenience stores and retail stores, bakeries but also major food conglomerates such as CJ, SPC, and Pulmuone, franchised restaurants, hotels, and online stores.

Orange Cheese Company also promotes western cuisines and food cultures in China and other Asian markets.  Orange Cheese Company currently exports to mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau with expansion targeting other Asian markets in Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
